A Good Time For Schools

In the intimacy of our Melba Spiegeltent, Circus Oz offered primary school children the opportunity to join in the fun and laughter of an exciting and stunt-filled circus performance, 3 Speed Crunch Box, followed by a skills-based circus workshop led by our experienced Circus Oz trainers.

Just $25 provides one child with the opportunity to experience a live performance and a fun circus workshop.

And $625 provides a whole class group (based on 25 students) the opportunity to experience a live performance and a fun circus workshop.

The combination of experiencing a circus performance plus learning the tricks of the trade builds a deep and unique understanding of the circus art form with an appreciation of the challenges, thrills and teamwork involved.

In 2016, with the generous support of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and their Youth in Philanthropy program, Circus Oz was able to offer 419 primary school children the opportunity to come to Circus Oz and participate in a circus skills workshop and watch the performance of 3 Speed Crunch Box.

A total of ten schools were able to participate and they come from all over Melbourne including the Collingwood English Language School, Milwarra Primary School and Reservoir East Primary School.

In 2015, Circus Oz was able to offer 617 primary school children the opportunity to come along to Circus Oz and participate in a circus skills workshop and watch the performance of Curiosity

We offered the program to 100 schools via the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development who are registered as having a low socio-economic disadvantage. We had an overwhelming response and 16 schools were able to engage in the program. The schools were located across Melbourne and Victoria from Dinjerra Primary School to Darraweit Guim Primary School, from Coolaroo South Primary School to Wallaroo Primary School.

Thank you to all our wonderful donors for making this program possible.

“Thank you very much. You gave us encouragement to one day join you.” Audrey, Year 3-4
"The children absolutely loved it and laughed all afternoon. They are very excited about the possibility of hopefully being part of the circus program in the future." Karen, Year 3 Teacher, St. Joseph’s Primary School, Collingwood
