In 2019, for the first time, we will be presenting a Relaxed Show with tickets on sale to the general public (previously we have done schools only Relaxed Shows). The Relaxed Show will take place on Thursday 3 October at 1:30pm
A Relaxed Show is for anyone who will benefit from a more relaxed environment, this can include but is not limited to people with autism, sensory sensitivities, learning disabilities, dementia as well as those living with anxiety or who have experienced trauma.
We will maintain the creative integrity of the show, making minor modifications to sensory elements like lighting and sound. The Big Top will not go into complete darkness and the seating capacity is reduced so there is a relaxed attitude to movement and noise and a designated quiet area is provided so you can leave the Big Top if you need a break.
A visual story is available to help prepare for your visit. It describes the performance, introduces you to the performers, and helps with your arrival at the Big Top, so that the experience is familiar and enjoyable. View the visual story online.
The show is open to anyone who would like to attend but seats are limited. Seating is general admission and tickets are available through all the usual channels.
Circus Oz accepts Companion Cards for all Big Top performances. The Companion Card is for people with a significant permanent disability, who always need a companion to provide attendant care type support. For more information on Companion cards please visit companioncard.org.au.
To book using a Companion Card please contact the Ticketek Hotline on 1300 665 915. Open Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 8.00pm and Sun and Public Holidays 9.00am - 5.00pm.
