Jessica McCrindle is a Funambulist (tightwire artist) and Acrobat. She began her circus career in Tasmanian youth circus ‘Slipstream Circus’. She is a graduate of NICA (2002), trained clown at Ecole Phillipe Gaulier in Paris, and Tightwire at Academie Fratellini, and Highwire with Denis Josslin in France. Jess has worked extensively as a freelance artist – Performing, producing, directing, teaching and creative consulting. Performance highlights include touring and performing with Company 2, Circus Monoxide, and Circus Quirkus. She has also performed for Circus Oz, Strut’n’Fret, Circa, Bamboozled Productions, to name a few. Jessica has produced and toured her own work - ‘Topsy Turvy’, ‘The Boat show’, ‘Circus Risque’, and ‘The Stupendous Spots’.
Jess is one half of the company “Wired Stunts” specialising in funambulism (wire walking) with her partner Kane Petersen. Highlights include Eureka Tower Skywalk (Melbourne 2015), ABCs ‘Redesign my Brain - series 2’ as Todd Sampson’s trainer for his daredevil finale skywalk stunt (2015) and recreating an ‘Elephant walks a Highwire’ for Luna Park’s 100 year anniversary celebrations (Melbourne 2012).
She was Co-Artistic Director at Slipstream Circus in 2003/5 where she also co-directed and co-produced the company’s touring performances and events. In 2016 she co-produced and curated the 2016 Tasmanian Circus Festival. Jess’s career has taken her across Europe, Asia, NZ, and Australia
