First Gig with Circus Oz: USA Tour 2013
Lou Oppenheim is the General Manager of Circus Oz. After completing a combined Engineering and Arts degree at the University of Melbourne, she worked for the Boston Consulting Group across Australia, New Zealand and America. During this time her violin travelled with her, and dabbling in pro-amateur orchestras resulted in a career highlight performance at Carnegie Hall, New York.
In 2003 Lou made the leap in to a full-time role in the performing arts, joining the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra firstly in strategic planning and then moved backstage to the role of Director of Operations. She worked in this position until the start of 2013, at which time Lou joined the mob at Circus Oz. Highlights to date include the move to new premises in Collingwood and hitchhiking to her first gig through the snow.
Lou is the Treasurer of Theatre Network Australia, Deputy Chair of ELISION contemporary music ensemble and a member of the City of Yarra Arts Advisory Committee.
