Social Justice

Founded in 1978, Circus Oz, Australia’s internationally acclaimed contemporary circus, is acknowledged worldwide as a living embodiment of everything that’s great about Australia and Australians. It’s spectacular, multi-skilled, physically exuberant, clever, irreverent, healthy and athletic, but laid-back, collaborative and importantly embodies the spice of life - diversity.

A commitment to social justice and a good time for all, and encouraging and inspiring individuals have driven Circus Oz's performance and community work.

Circus Oz has for many years engaged in issues associated with social justice and a good time for all. This has taken many forms including content within our show, supporting benefits and providing tickets and workshops to many groups and communities. These include women’s refuges, welfare agencies, homeless shelters, victims of domestic violence, families living on housing commission estates, the Red Cross, the Royal Children's Hospital, and Anglicare Kids in Crisis.

Circus Oz has also had a long-standing connection with refugees and asylum seekers including holding workshops at detention centres, providing tickets and raising over $500,000 in donations through our Red Bucket collections.

If you would like to help Circus Oz continue our efforts to promote diversity and human kindness visit our Support Circus Oz page for information on making tax free donations.
